Did anyone see the YT clip of Whoopie and The View crew saying that you should “pound the pavement” to find a job and hand in your resume in person? The subject of the clip was the #okayboomer hashtag and the comment section went wild about how no one dare contact a company or show up in person, even to follow up on an interview or application materials. Old school career counselors I have spoken to are disagreeing with the commenters. What say you?

Yikes, if there are career counselors out there still giving that advice, they should face mandatory retirement! That is terrible advice, extremely outdated, and yes, the only people who still say that are out of touch boomers.

In person has worked for me in the last 5 years…for summer retail jobs in college. I don’t think it really applies to professional jobs. Most places have a process and people randomly showing up and interrupting their day to hand them a piece of paper isn’t part of it.
