Funny – one of the LLBean monograms is “Dump Him”. I wonder if the owner is a reader of this blog.

Paging DC aspiring blood donor
I’m curious how you ended up. Did you find a drive you could get to? If you went to the Red Cross center on D Street, I’d love to know your impressions.
I live in Arlington and started donating through Inova. At first I went out to the donation center in Woodbridge, which was a PIA, but it was early Covid and time was less meaningful. After that I started going to their neighborhood drives. But — thinking of you — if you haven’t done your first appt. yet, you might want to do it at a center, if possible. The donating-in-a-bus experience adds a bit of being close to others that could be a bit off-putting if you’re not in the right mood.
I’ve always had excellent experiences with either Inova or Red Cross. The phlebotomists are skilled and friendly, and they have lovely snacks in the Little Debbie line. Based on the beseeching messages I’ve been getting, there’s a dire need for blood. Good luck to you!
