Bargain Friday’s TPS Report: Halogen Print Surplice Tee

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. We begin the week in splurge mode, with our most expensive suggestions, and wind our way to Friday, where a less expensive item of clothing might be just what you need to make it to the weekend.

Can’t decide if this looks more like a “Mom” shirt or something my 15-year-old niece would wear
Anon– I think it is definitely most like a maternity shirt. Seriously, basically every maternity work-appropriate shirt has this shape and a similar pattern.
Ooooh, I think not. It screams “I’m 23 years old and don’t know yet that while my club clothes can sparkle and flash, my work clothes should not.”
That should not be a $48 shirt. It really has a lot of things NOT going for it.
And enough with the purple obsession. Enough!
Man, what’s with the fug this week!?
I like the shirt. I’d wear it around the pool, out to dinner or at a weekend outing. I wouldn’t wear it to work. But it is still cute.
No judgment on the shirt, but I like when Bargain Fridays feature things that are at a $20-30 (or even less!!) price point. Maybe I’m just cheap, but I don’t consider a $50 rayon shirt a bargain.
Yuck, definite mom shirt or something I could find for $12 at Ross/Marshall’s. I’m not a fan of the Halogen line — the shirts look ok on the rack but they end up looking kind of cheap when you wear them.
I agree with Jay, I love the fact that Fridays are about bargains. In fact, I would love to see the site post more links to affordable clothing as supposed to the “splurge” pieces that very few can afford to buy in this economy.
Complaints aside, I love this site! :)
You know, while I love reading about the deals out there, it’s kind of nice to see the higher-quality (albeit higher-priced) because it makes me slow down and only buy nicer pieces when it’s time for me to shop. Corporette has made me even more picky, but in a good way. So thank you!!
