Coffee Break – “Meghan” Scarf

DIANE von FURSTENBERG "Meghan" ScarfBloomingdale’s has some great sales going on (including tons of dresses!) but for today’s coffee break I’m liking this scarf. First, I did NOT know that Diane von Furstenberg’s patterns came in scarves, as well, and this excites me quite a bit. I’m lusting after one myself, but can’t help think that this would make a great gift for a favorite woman in your life. It was $198 but is now $103.95 at Bloomingdale’s.  DIANE von FURSTENBERG “Meghan” Scarf

Coffee Break: A Monthly Box of Healthy Snacks

LollihopI don’t know about you, but I love trying new foods — particularly snack foods. It’s like I never grew out of that phase where your mom buys you something in the checkout line at the grocery store as a prize for being well behaved during the shopping trip. A new flavor of chips? Sign me up. A new candy bar? Oooh. (When I travel internationally, forget about it — every bodega is like Christmas!) In more recent years I’ve tried to make it healthier snacks, at least — which is why I jumped at the chance to try Lollihop. Lollihop is a monthly “subscription” where they send you a box of healthy snacks, once a month. While not low-calorie per se, my box contained lots of healthier options than the usual candy bar or bag of chips — I particularly loved the amazing popcorn from 479° Popcorn, and I wonder why I’ve refused to try Lärabars for so long — delicious.

A 12-month subscription is $18.95 per month, promising 8 snacks per box, nutritionist approved snacks in single serving sizes. Yum. Since it’s the holidays, the folks at Lollihop are offering a 20% discount to the first 50 readers who sign up for gift subscriptions.  Just go to and input the promotion code CORPORETTE20 to get 20% off the entire Gift Subscription amount. (And yes, you can “gift” one to yourself.)

Readers, do you share my snack obsession?  What are your favorite tasty and healthy treats?

Coffee Break – Pop Color Snake Print Belt

Pop Color Snake Print BeltI’m always a sucker for a royal blue snake print belt — and when it comes in green and magenta as well for under $30, I take notice. They’re $29.50 at LOFT. Pop Color Snake Print Belt

Coffee Break – Grace Snake-Embossed Tote, Purple

Beirn Grace Snake-Embossed Tote, PurpleI have wanted a Beirn bag forever, and I’m seriously considering this one (especially considering the serious sale). Love the purple/snake embossed leather, the thin shoulder straps, the removable wristlet, and the zip pocket inside. It was $515, now marked to $310, with an extra 30% off bringing it down near $200. Nice! Available in purple and orange at Last Call by Neiman Marcus. Beirn Grace Snake-Embossed Tote, Purple.

Coffee Break – Elodee Oxfords

Nine West - Elodee (Black/Black Suede) - FootwearThis high-heeled oxford kind of shoe is the kind of thing my mother would look at with disdain and call a “nun shoe,” but I actually think they’re a great workwear basic. This pair from Nine West looks particularly attractive — a nice stacked heel with what looks like lots of cushioning, and good comfort reports on Zappos. Score! I’d wear them with tall, wide-legged pants, or with matching opaque tights and a slightly short skirt (nothing below the knee). They’re available in black, black suede, brown, and brown suede, for $53.40 at today’s sale on  Nine West – Elodee (Black/Black Suede) – Footwear

Coffee Break – Yoga for Stress Relief DVD

Yoga for Stress Relief
I’m just going to start by saying this: I am not a yoga chick. Part of this stems from the fact that I’ve always been really flexible, but with lousy balance, so I can get into the positions really easily and then just fall over. That said, I wanted to recommend this DVD to you guys — particularly as the end of the year amps into a fairly stressful time of year. This DVD has 20+ easy to follow routines that target (in generally 15-20 minute segments) specific pains, such as lower back pain, neck and shoulder pain, headaches — and yoga that purports to help stomach and digestive issues, as well as troubled sleep, including insomnia. For $13.49 through Amazon, it’s a great investment in YOU. Yoga for Stress Relief
