Help! I have a last minute local TV appearance (I’m a lawyer getting interviewed about an issue that’s big in my state. Not COVID but serious). What do I wear? I’m petite, pale skinned, dark shoulder length hair, dark brown eyes. This question is both “do I wear a suit” and “what colors”.
Go for it
Jewel tones read well on tv on most complexions
Anon
Yes to jewel tones, and no complicated fussy bits anywhere. Visual simplicity.

Wear solid colors. I made the mistake of wearing a print blouse once and it looked like my clothing was moving!
Ses
Yes to suit. It’s just what people expect from a lawyer to project authority, even in a pandemic. Jewel-tone shirt without collar if possible (button-down if white or very light under suit can read young if that’s an issue for you).
LaurenB
I wouldn’t do a button-down; what if a button pops open, what if the collar misbehaves and comes out of the suit on one side but not the other. I’d do a silk shell, that way there will be no distractions.

Huh? Didn’t you also say this yesterday?

This whole thread except your comment is from last week. Weird.

I would go with a sleeved suiting or other business formal dress in a jewel tone or navy with a statement necklace. Maybe a boucle blazer or other blazer that is less formal?
Anonymous
I would wear a suit or at least a suit jacket with a simple shirt underneath.
