Frugal Wednesday’s TPS Report: Office Lady Blazer

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Office Lady BlazerI just learned about this company, Rose Wholesale, the other day — a friend had liked the page so the ad was showing in my FB feed with some alluring title like “Women’s coats for under $25.” I clicked, and while a lot of the pieces look a bit costume-y, there are some pieces for work that I might give a shot if I was tired of the usual budget offerings. Take, for example, this black and white blazer, which has a very Chanel-esque look about it. Reviews seeem positive, too, and for $15.37 it’s hard to go wrong. It’s available in sizes S-XL in white and black. Office Lady Blazer

For bargains for plus sizes, check out the “curvy young contemporary” section at Red Dress Boutique — I recently saw an episode of Shark Tank featuring the founder and was impressed enough by her story to click through to check out the boutique.  Most of it isn’t my taste, but I though this plum blazer for $46 looked nice…

Tuesday’s TPS Report: Cashmere Turtleneck Sweater

Neiman Marcus Cashmere Turtleneck Sweater | CorporetteOur daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

So I’ve been eyeing this festive blazer but pondering how to wear it when it’s SO. DANG. COLD. And the answer, in theory, was always: a silk/cashmere turtleneck. But finding one under $300 turned out to be a bit of a challenge — which is why I’m posting a few of my finds today, because a slim-fitted but warm turtleneck is such a great layering essential. I like the pictured one, at Neiman Marcus (was $280, now $125, available in 10 colors), this Max Studio silk turtleneck (available in 14 colors for $128), and this C by Bloomingdale’s cashmere turtleneck (was $158, now $99, available in 16 colors). Coffee Break: Small Pavé Huggie Hoop Earrings

Nadri Small Pave Huggie HoopsI always love my huggie earrings, and these look like a great, affordable option thanks to the small pavé crystals (instead of diamonds).  As always, I find huggies super comfortable for long phone conversations, unlike post earrings, and they lend a finished look without being distracting when you speak, like a lot of dangling earrings can be.  These are $40 at Bloomingdale’s. Weekend Open Thread

Ugg Classic Cardy BootsSomething on your mind? Chat about it here.

Brrrrrrr: it is COLD outside.  I almost never wear my regular UGGs, but for some reason these cardigan slipper UGGs look like they would be just the thing for puttering around the house — it’s like they have “Netflix binge” written all over them.  They’re $150 (with 586 great reviews!) at Zappos. (Old Navy has a few more affordable options (if I had a really small foot, I might even try these.))  Happy weekend, ladies!

Frugal Friday’s TPS Report: Snake-Embossed Contrast-Striped Skirt

Romeo & Juliet Couture Snake-Embossed Contrast-Striped Skirt | CorporetteOur daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

I go back and forth on whether I like this kind of pencil skirt — but I love the contrasting stripes on this one, as well as the nice, muted color palette. The price is even better: it was $140, but is now marked to $29.40 at Last Call. Romeo & Juliet Couture Snake-Embossed Contrast-Striped Skirt

Thursday’s TPS Report: Cashmere V-Neck Sweater

Lord & Taylor Cashmere V Neck Sweater | CorporetteOur daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Lord & Taylor’s big sale seems to have started, which means that if you haven’t already, you may want to check out Lord & Taylor cashmere. Recommended by readers in the past as the best cashmere sweaters for softness, warmth, and quality, these are starting to dip into the under-$100 territory. I like this V-neck sweater, which comes in 22 colors, sizes XS-XL — looks like a great, simple basic for the office or weekend. This one was $160, but is now marked to $89. (Sadly, the extra 20% off pass does not work on the cashmere department — but if you’re looking at other stuff, try code BIG.) Lord & Taylor Cashmere V Neck Sweater
