What Is Your Everyday Makeup Routine?

It's been a few years since we discussed, ladies — what is your everyday makeup routine? What have you added in the past few years, and what have you subtracted? What have you started doing differently? Is there anything in your makeup routine that you keep doing even though it isn't trendy? (If you're on Zoom or other video calls all day, how have you varied your makeup?)

For my $.02, I feel like I've added more into my routine than I had before — I've been better about going to the gym lately and all of those mirrors makes me realize I feel better if I'm wearing blush, brows, and concealer!

For nights out, for no reason whatsoever I've mostly stopped contouring — I feel like I don't have sufficient patience for the blending required, and I'd rather look, well, uncontoured than walk around with an obvious unblended patch on my neck or something.

In the past, I've shared my tips for dark circles beneath your eyes and my favorite cream/liquid blushes, the Corporette staff has chimed in on whether we use foundation, BB cream, or something else. We've also discussed interview makeup tips, makeup tips for people who wear glasses, and discussed how makeup routines can differ based on work/weekend/party.

My Latest Short Makeup Routine

As of 2026, my short makeup routine is pretty boring — curled eyelashes + concealer + blush (NARS Orgasm) + eyebrow + powder, with a different lipstick and eyeliner depending on my mood. If I'm feeling extra fancy I'll add mascara, highlighter, and/or do my brows with this cream and a brush similar to this one (here's my review). (I also add eye shadows in the “extra” days but it's a huge variety, maybe 25 or so different ones.)

Some favorite lipglosses and lipsticks include Dior Addict Lip Glow, NARS gloss (Orgasm, Fast Lane), Clinique Chubby Sticks and Clinique (Black Honey). I use this NYX lipliner (Natural) for almost all of them. For more color I like MERIT's Millennial pink and Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk.

My favorite blushes as of 2026 include liquid and cream blushes like Youthforia, MILK, and NARS the Multiple, as well as powders like Diorshow’s Backstage Rosy Glow and NARS (in Orgasm). I also have NARS's liquid blush in three different colors.

My favorite eyeliners as of 2026: Chanel (Espresso), Urban Decay (Sabbath, Smoke), and a lot of brown and black options from the drugstore like NYX. I also love this Bobbi Brown eyeshadow liner for days without mascara, something about it feels soft yet complete.

  1. Cream blush (stick or applied with brush), eyebrows, and lip oil or sheer lipstick. = 2 min.

For the office, I usually add tinted moisturizer and some attention to the eyes (eyeshadow, brown eyeshadow stick as liner, curl lashes + mascara). = 5-10 min.

For very important zoom interviews or presentations, I wear smudged navy eyeliner on the top only. It’s stage makeup. I don’t especially like how it looks in person, but it does some voodoo to my green eyes on camera. I discovered this during the pandemic.

  2. I really don’t understand the heavy brows. They are not at all flattering. Has no one looked at their pictures and realized how awful it looks? I do moisturizer, a touch of highlighter, eye makeup, a tinted lip oil and a setting spray.

  3. Disclaimer: I love makeup. For office days, I wear custom foundation and concealer from my eyebrow person (Dianelynn), some sort of setting spray (MLK or MAC), cream blush (currently Danessa Myricks or Haus), eyebrow gel (Thrive), gel eyeliner on top only (black or deep plum), eyeshadow (2-3 kinds) and mascara (current faves Tarte and Clinique). I use a thick lip balm for my commute and then at work apply lipliner (MAC cool spice, vino or soar) and lipstick/gloss/whatever based on my mood. Yes, take me time in the morning (20 mins). But I have a lot of fun with it. I never got the hang of contouring. For special nights, I usually use more dramatic eyeshadow products or a dramatic lip color. For weekends, I skip mascara, use tinted moisturizer and lip balm and only one shadow if any.
