OK, that may be a weird question, but hopefully you know what I mean — in 2024, are you wearing pointy-toed shoes? Almond toes? Square toes? Round toes? It feels like everything is available, and I'm curious — what are you personally finding works with most of your outfits?

What Toe Shapes Are You Wearing in 2024?

For my $.02, I'm always a fan of pointy-toed shoes — I think they give a leg-lengthening look and look great beneath so many of the wide legs that we're seeing now.

I think my next favorite is square toe, particularly for boots and flats — something about it feels really modern and fresh.

Readers, what are your thoughts?

  1. I have always found square toed shoes to be hideous. Maybe I’ve never gotten over my childhood association with Roald Dahl’s The Witches where the witches all have square feet?

      1. i always associate witches with the loooong pointy toes we wore in 2003 where there was like an extra 2 inches of point after your toes ended

    1. Some of us are born with triangular feet. We can’t wear pointy toe shoes. And since I hate rounded toe and it can be sometimes tricky to find the perfect almond toe for your foot – yes, I have a pair of black leather booties with a square toe. I don’t wear them often, but when I do, it is not uncommon for someone to stop me and say something like…. “Is that what the kids are wearing now?!?!”. So obvi it bothers some people….

  2. Off topic – but I ordered a Daily Look box and it was terrible and they just charged me $1000 despite me sending the whole box back. So, don’t try Daily Look!

  3. I’m happy pointed toes aren’t de rigueur at the moment. My feet are a little on the long side for my body (size 7.5, but I’m only 5’!!!) and I think they emphasize my foot size. Plus the point is really not terribly comfortable…

    1. Same for me. I’m a bit taller than you and wear 9.5. My height never caught up to my feet, unfortunately!

  4. I haven’t worn shoes that look like any of these since covid. have made it through the summer in a pair of neat white leather sneakers and a pair of old black cole haan sandals.
