Olivia Moon Knit BlazerThese knit blazers from Olivia Moon have been around for a few years now, and they’re always highly rated.  This one is available in a bunch of sizes (including petite) in basic colors like black, dark gray, and light gray. It is $79.50 to $89.50 in regular, petite, and plus sizes. Olivia Moon Knit Blazer

Coffee Break: Fulton Moccasin

Kors Fulton MoccasinCommenters were recommending this flat the other day, and I really like the look of its clean, neat lines. Zappos has it in a ton of fun colors right now, but Amazon has some nice deals on basic colors like this “luggage” leather (also in black leather and black suede). It was $99, but is marked to $79 (select sizes and colors only, alas). Kors Michael Kors Fulton Moccasin

Thursday’s TPS Report: Walk the Line Blazer

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Nasty Gal Blazer#GirlBoss is still on my reading list, but I’m definitely paying more attention to the company Sophia Amoruso founded: NastyGal, so named for a Betty Davis song.  What started as a vintage eBay store grew to a $100M+ online fashion retailer — and yet somehow it’s kept its vintage, fun vibe.  This red blazer — fully lined, and handwashable — looks cool, particularly with the notched hem in the back.  It’s $78 at Nasty Gal, available in sizes XXS-XL. Nasty Gal Walk the Line Blazer

Here’s a red plus-size blazer.

Psst: Totally unrelated, but I doubt inventory will hold until next Thursday: this dress just got marked down from $178 to $99 and looks super cool.

Wednesday’s TPS Report: Blackwood Wool Blend Jersey Jacket

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

nordstrom-sale-classiques-entier-bllackwood-jacketNordstrom has started a big clearance sale (now through 2/22) and there’s a ton of great stuff for the taking. I’ll do a roundup later this morning, but right now I’m loving this blue wool/jersey blazer from Classiques Entier — it looks cool, well made, and for $148 (down from $298) it’s a great deal.   Classiques Entier® ‘Blackwood’ Wool Blend Jersey Jacket

Coffee Break: Kate Spade Surprise Sale

Kate Spade Cedar Street Ombre Patent StacyThere are some great deals going on at the Kate Spade Surprise sale that just started — including this lovely little ombre wallet. $49! It comes in pink and blue (I am of course lusting over the blue, but I also really like the pink), and I like the fact that it has a little change pocket in addition to tons of credit card slots and dollar bill slots. The wallet was $128, but is now marked to $49 (final sale only, alas). Kate Spade Cedar Street Ombre Patent Stacyv

The Hunt: Great Cashmere Sweaters

cashmere-sweaters2017 Update: Check out our latest discussion of the most affordable cashmere for work!

Sure, we all know what basics professional women are supposed to have in their closets, but if you’re buying one for the first time or replacing one you’ve worn into the ground, it can be a pain to find exactly the right incarnation in stores. In “The Hunt,” we search the stores for a basic item that every woman should have.

Cashmere is a must for any working woman — it’s warm (great for the freezing office!), a bit luxurious, and (shhh) usually Woolite/delicate-cycle friendly.  We haven’t done a roundup of cashmere sweaters in a while (2014, 2012), and so many of the great ones are on sale that I thought today would be a great day to discuss it.

Ladies, have you bought any great cashmere sweaters recently?  Which are your favorite brands for cashmere in general?
