Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. Love this cotton v-neck cardigan from Etro — particularly the trim of purple and orange. While I do wish it were a more luxurious fabric (<cough>, silk or cashmere, <cough>), I think the weave looks even, tight, and high quality. … Read More about Splurge Monday’s TPS Report: Slate and Purple V-Neck Cardigan
Weekend Open Thread
Something on your mind? Chat about it here. Maybe I’m hormonal, but I really, really like this skirt. Yes, it’s fluorescent pink (fine, “Rose-Lilac”) but it looks like a great skirt to wear for a leisurely day — at the movies, maybe slouching through a few stores, and possibly grabbing mid-afternoon drinks with friends. It … Read More about Weekend Open Thread

Frugal Friday’s TPS Report: Tartlet Burst Top
Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. This strikes me as a really fun top for a casual workday. The extra strip of fabric gives it a bit of an asymmetrical look from afar, but up close it has almost a keyhole effect. I’d wear it with … Read More about Frugal Friday’s TPS Report: Tartlet Burst Top
Coffee Break – ‘Quilting Tribeca’ Satchel
Love this “quilting Tribeca” satchel from Marc Jacobs. It’s simple, elegant, and big enough to actually fit a ton of stuff (15.5″Wx11″Hx6″D). I do wish it were lined in a lighter fabric (so much easier to see inside the bag!) but maybe that’s just me. It’s $1,395 at Nordstrom. MARC JACOBS ‘Quilting Tribeca’ Satchel (L-2)

Thursday’s TPS Report: Paintbox floral cardigan
Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. Ah, spring — where it’s 70 degrees one day, and 45 the next. The key to schizophrenic weather is to dress in layers, which for me has always meant lots of cardigans (sometimes even under blazers, buttoned like a regular … Read More about Thursday’s TPS Report: Paintbox floral cardigan
Suit of the Week: Brooks Brothers
For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits for women, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional. I like … Read More about Suit of the Week: Brooks Brothers

Wednesday’s TPS Report: Calypso Flower Dress
Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. Hat tip to commenter AIMS, who mentioned this dress yesterday — I love the vintage vibe, the flattering cut, and the unusual color (at least, orange is unusual for me!). It’s at a nice price, too: $118 at French Connection. … Read More about Wednesday’s TPS Report: Calypso Flower Dress
Coffee Break – White Gold Black Diamond Accented Huggie Hoop Earrings
I love a good huggie hoop earring. These white gold earrings with teeny black diamonds look like they would be lovely, comfortable, and bring just the slightest bit of “edge” to most outfits. They’re $490 at Saks Fifth Avenue. Jude Frances 18K White Gold Black Diamond Accented Huggie Hoop Earrings (L-2)
Tuesday’s TPS Report: A-Line Pleat-Godet Skirt
Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. I really like this A-line pleat skirt from Lafayette 148 New York. Love the way the pleat seems so daring if you look at it one way (although it’s a far cry from Angelina at the Oscars), yet conservative if … Read More about Tuesday’s TPS Report: A-Line Pleat-Godet Skirt
