Lauren Merkin Lucy Embossed Patent Leather Clutch Something on your mind? Chat about it here.

Last Call by Neiman Marcus has a number of handbags marked an additional 40% off already reduced prices, including this hot little amethyst clutch.  I just bought a clutch that I’m in love with, but this one is tempting me — that rich, saturated amethyst color would look great against a dark dress, and could even be a fun jolt of color to wear with a light blue dress in the summer.  It was $250, then marked to $180, but with the discount it comes to $108. Nice. Lauren Merkin Lucy Embossed Patent Leather Clutch

Missoni - SM10 VAR G 992 (Multi) - FootwearSomething on your mind? Chat about it here.

Zappos has a number of good deals going, including up to 40% off a good selection of Stuart Weitzman, Kate Spade, Loeffler Randall, and… Missoni. These stunners are the perfect office shoes, if only because they’re totally impractical for wearing outside.  I like the classic shape, and the fact that they’re just a leetle bit wild — perfect for a casual day at the office. I’d order them now and wear them for a house party on New Year’s Eve, and then take them in to work to wear with pencil skirts, sheath dresses, and more. They were $525, but are now marked to $289.99. Missoni – SM10 VAR G 992 (Multi) – Footwear

Calvin Klein - Sequin Maxi Skirt (Black) - ApparelSomething on your mind? Chat about it here.

So I’ll admit it: in my New Year’s Eve fantasy I am hosting a chic party for all of my friends, answering the door in a “whaaaaat, this old thing?” sequined maxi skirt (with bare feet, mais oui) and a simple black tank, perhaps with an armful of bracelets on. It is boho and casual and chic and fancy, all at the same time. This sequin skirt from Calvin Klein is the cheapest I’ve found: $139 at Zappos.

(We’ll be winding down for the holidays, but stay tuned for deal reports (at least if there’s anything worth reporting) on 12/26 and the days that follow, and next week we’ll have a few more “best of” posts to serve as open threads.  Happy holidays, ladies — may everyone have a great time (and get those holiday deals you want.) )

Deborah Lippmann - Glitter Nail Polish (Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?) - Beauty Something on your mind? Chat about it here.

Happy Weekend! If you’re looking for something festive during the holidays, I’ve been lusting after this sparkled nail polish from Deborah Lipmann. With big chunks of sparkles, these babies are long lasting and (relatively) quick drying. For this week, I think, nothing but the reddest red will do. This one is $18 at Zappos. Deborah Lippmann – Glitter Nail Polish

UPDATE: I just read in Real Simple that Lippman advises you remove sparkly nail polish with a piece of felt — just add nail polish remover to a piece of felt the same way you would a cotton ball and it comes right off. Interesting!

American Living Ruched Dress, BoatneckSomething on your mind? Chat about it here.

Reader J wrote in to recommend this dress, noting: “I kid you not when I say I originally bought this dress last month as a part of a Halloween costume. I was going as Joan Holloway from Mad Men and needed something that reflected her figure-hugging, bold-colored, yet covered-up, style. This dress fit the bill perfectly and I fell in love with it the minute I tried it on. The material is a bit thicker, so no significant concerns about VPL. The dress is also quite stretchy and runs a size or two large in my opinion. And the color is bold without being obnoxiously bright. I wouldn’t consider it office/work-day appropriate, but would be great for an office holiday party.” Lovely — the dress wins rave reviews from the other commenters on the JCP site as well. It was $90, now marked to $56.99 at JC Penney. American Living Ruched Dress, Boatneck

Isola - Balta (Black Sheep Sonner) - FootwearSomething on your mind? Chat about it here.

The extremely strappy sandal look has been around for a long time, I think, but it still looks fresh and hot, at least to me. The trick? Finding a pair of heels that’s comfortable to wear with your party dress. I like this pair of 4″ heels from Isola (the same company behind the ubercomfortable Sofft and Born shoes). I like the “quiet” sparkle, the way the straps dip in the front (to help elongate your leg) and the general look. They were $185 at Zappos, but are currently marked to $148.
