There are some crazy sales right now at Jones New York — all of the sale prices are an extra 50% off, meaning there are a ton of dresses to be had for around $20, blazers below $50, and even some winter coats below $75. Things aren't looking good for JNY, so if you like the brand, stock up now. They have a ton of options in regular, petite, and plus sizes; lots of my favorite are still left from our sponsored roundup last October. As near as I can tell these are NOT final sales; shipping is a flat $7 but free if your purchase is more than $125. Below are a few of my favorite things in today's sale… (note that the real action is with the dresses, but tons of nice blazers as well)…
Pictured at left: Blue Leopard Wrap Dress, also available in plus sizes — was $119, now $19.50. Faux wrap, machine washable. Below:
- Patch Pocket Blazer, was $149, now $55. Also available in petite.
- Sleeveless Asymmetric Keyhole Sheath Dress, was $129, now $19.50. “Dry clean.”
- Sheath Dress with Cap Sleeves and Side Ruching, was $119, now $19.50. Machine wash. Also available in houndstooth.
- V-Neck Sheath Dress with Belt – was $98 now $19.50. Lined, “dry clean.”
Not pictured, but also noteworthy:
- I have this simple tee in both short and long sleeves — it feels a bit dressier to me than your basic crewneck/v-neck tee, is stretchy and fitted without being clingy, and washes easily — and it comes down to $9.50 from $26. I have it in black but I'd guess the white would be opaque.
- There's a ton from the suit shop on sale as well — blazers are around $35, dresses around $19.50, and skirts around $15.
- The brand's popular Olivia blazer is as low as $25 in some colors.
- Some colors of their fitted iron-free crisp blouse come down to $14.50 with the sale (from $64).
- These two black and white dresses are very similar (one, two) and both come down to $22. OK, this gray one too. (Seriously, the dresses, you guys — great selection.)

If I’m usually a 6 or 8 at stores like Banana Republic or Boden, would an 8 in Jones New York be huge on me? I think I recall them running large, but I haven’t worn them in years.
Emma
Yeah, I think they run large. The 8 is probably going to be on the big side.

Darn. They have some great deals!

I don’t know that I’d agreed that JNY runs large, at least in tops/dresses WRT to the bust. I have a number of JNY dresses — the cap sleeve faux wraps are a real warm-weather staple for me, I think I have five — but I’m busty and have to size up, then usually take in the waist area.
I have the purple v-neck dress Kat highlighted (haven’t worn it yet because it’s being hemmed) and again I got a size larger than I might have elsewhere to accommodate the bust. It’s a great dress, though, a nice crepe with a flattering shape and a v that is not too deep. I think it looks lower cut in the picture than it actually is, at least on me.
AttiredAttorney
Will agree that the purple v-neck dress runs slightly small. As noted below, I usually wear a 12/14 in AT and a 10/12 in JNY and the 12 in that purple dress was skin tight. Whereas, the 10 in the blue leopard print faux wrap was perfect.
Bonnie
I have the burgandy dress and it fits true to size for me (same as BR/AT).

I’m an 8-10 at BR and AT and at Jones NY a 6 or Medium is big on me.
AttiredAttorney
I am a 12-14/L at Ann Taylor/Banana Republic and wear a 10-12/M at JNY.

Thanks for the alert! I like a lot from JNY, and was just able to buy 3 dresses, 2 skirts, 3 shells, 1 sweater, and 1 pair of pants for a grand total of $146 (including the tax). That is so crazy. I suppose it likely foreshadows the store closing up shop, which is sad!

Same here – 1 shirt, 2 sweaters, $55 including shipping.

I went to town on this sale Thursday night, and my order is supposed to come Tuesday. We’ll see if I like any of it, but I figured it was worth a shot for things like long sleeved tees for $8.
I got a suit from the last suit sale JNY had because I needed an interview suit, and while I think the one I wound up with is ok, I never would have paid full sticker price for it (I think the tag price was $249 for the Platinum jacket and $100+ for the pants, $150+ for the washable wool jacket – I wound up paying around $120 for the suit I kept after I paid for fast shipping and then $7.50 to return the other styles I didn’t keep).
In the suit I wound up keeping (washable wool in Heather Alloy) there were some quirks I didn’t like included that the jacket was moderately long and didn’t have a vent at all, the pockets are all fake flaps, not pockets, and the washable wool pants are unlined and therefore itchy (I wore them with footless tights the first time when it was sub-zero out, and skimmies under them when it wasn’t quite so cold, which helped a lot on both itching and no VPL). The jacket in one size up fit a little bit from the back (due to lack of vent) but needed tailoring at the waist to make it not look huge and boxy on me, so I kept the one that was the right size in the waist but pulls a little over my backside/hips when its buttoned, since I almost never button my suit jackets.
Overall review- $120 for a plus size suit that I needed in less than 1 week and then probably won’t need again more than 1x per year? Good deal. Full price suits? Probably not worth it.

Wow there are some fantastic deals here! I really like Calvin Klein dresses and wear either an 8 or 10 in that. Anyone have a recommendation for what size dresses I should buy from Jones New York? Thank you!

I just bought 3 dresses (2 of them shown above) for a total of 67$ with tax and shipping. First clothing purchase of the year after a self imposed shopping ban.
Parfait
I have this dress and highly recommend it, especially for pears. I lived in it all winter.

Anyone know how their blazers fit? I normally take an 8 in BR to make sure I have enough room across the shoulders. I’m wondering whether I should size down to a 6 in some of the boxier styles or whether they will be too narrow in the shoulders.

Thanks for the heads-up on this awesome sale! I just bought 5 dresses, 2 sweaters, and a skirt for $153!! (Plus, I signed up for their email and received an additional $20 off so my total was $133!)
Zelda
Is JNY available in any b&m stores? I’d like to see what their sizing is like before I place an order.
Blonde Lawyer
A lot of the outlets have a JNY. I’m pretty sure Tanger does.
Sacha
Many department stores carry them, including Macy’s.

SCORE: 4 dresses and a sweater top for $90 total!!! If you sign up for emails they send you a $20 off of $100 order, and shipping is $5. Go Kat for this great heads up!
For these prices, I don’t mind getting them tailored or hemmed if they run too big ;)
newbinlaw
how did you get the $20 off? I just signed up and got a “Your New Jones New York online account” email with no offers. :(
Anon
The email I got after I signed up (I’m not the OP) had a link to click that would take me to the website to order and the $20 was automatically applied.
anon101
Yep, it was a click through email that automatically applied the discount during checkout. The email came a few mins after signing up. Also, note that the default shipping option is $7 but you can dropdown and select a cheaper $5 option if you are willing to wait an extra 3 days ship time.

Or sign up for their loyalty program for 10% off and free shipping both ways.
I just bought four work appropriate dresses and two skirts for $110 including tax. I am supposed to be on a shopping ban, but this was too good to pass up. Or that’s what I’m telling myself.

Reporting back on my JNY purchase. I bought all size 4’s (I am usually 2-4) and they are all huge and long on me. This brand runs large and I will be taking everything to the tailor to get hemmed and taken in. But like I said, at these prices, I didn’t mind taking the risk.
