Whatever happened to 360 Reviews? Any chance they might reappear? I thought they were fun.
Seconded. I particularly liked how there would be reasoning behind why a particular item/outfit wasn’t totally appropriate so I would know what to look for in other items/outfits.
For the revival may I suggest Jane from Drop Dead Diva. Love her!
Seconded! I’m about the same size as Jane and it’s nice to see real, non-cartoonish clothing on her.
I enjoyed doing them too, but a) they took way too much time to do, and b) I really feel like I need to know the character before I do them, and the majority of “new” shows we’ve been watching (True Blood, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, etc) are not conducive to discussion on this blog.
I was considering doing Jane on DDD, but some of her clothes I truly hate (jackets that aren’t big enough to close, I’m looking at you), and the show makes my brain hurt from all the legal errors (like when there’s a surprise witness, or when they go to jury trial the same day that they’ve filed papers, or when they add a new cause of action on the fly, or when the judge lets someone testify “my doctor believes X”).
But I’ll consider it, perhaps after the hormones have quieted down and I’m not quite so testy about everything.
Oh, I’m totally guilty of jackets that don’t close. There’s just no human way to find a jacket to fit over my chest that wouldn’t have to be made specifically for me and I make about 1/3 of a biglaw salary, so that ain’t happening.
But I totally understand on needing to know the character. And the legal mistakes on DDD are so appalling sometimes!
Kat, maybe if you made a template (or something similar) we could help you out and do a “guest post 360 Review” a la You Look Fab. I know I love this site enough that I would be willing to take some time and put something together.
Just a thought.
I also like the 360 reviews :) I was just thinking about Dr. Megan Hunt, played by Dana Delaney, on ABC’s “Body of Proof”. She always seems to look really nice, even on “casual” days, and her clothes actually seem like a real woman in an office might wear most of them.
How about Hanna on Franklin & Bash?
How is that show? I want to wacth, but am afraid it will be REALLY bad.
It’s amusing. Of course it has the same problems as DDD regarding the legal errors. But I enjoy it, and so does my husband who is not in the legal field.
I think you could even do Emma on Glee.
I’m so glad that “Poll of the Week: Should Anyone Wear an Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini To An Office Function?” was brought to my attention… I’m a 2L working in a conservative government office, and we’re having an office river float, and I was agonizing over what I was suppose to wear (not that I’m not still agonizing, but now I know how others have resolved their agonizing). Thanks!
Some other suggestions:
Kate and Lauren Reed on USA’s fairly legal
Gillian Foster on Lie to Me (now cancelled)
Alicia Florrick and Diane Lockhart on the Good Wife
