Wow. We adore this blazer from Bailey 44. The stark white trim around the collar and pockets — the clean lines — the notched collar — great. We'd wear it with cigarette pants or skinny trousers, and maybe add a bright color (red, yellow) in an accessory.
It's available at Nordstrom's for $350 in sizes XS-L.

I am not ready for these long blazers from the 80’s to come back.
Are cigarette pants or skinny trousers appropriate for work?
I think they’re too form-fitting to be appropriate for most offices.
I don’t think cigarette pants would work well for the office — even if you have the figure for them, I think they’re too “look at my legs.” But I’m having trouble picturing how else to wear this. Definitely better with pants (I think a pencil skirt would make this look scream ’80s), but wider legs wouldn’t balance out the volume of the jacket… hmm.
This may be because I don’t remember the 80s (or early 90s, for that matter!) but I think this is a really cute look. It’s a little edgy without being too over the top. I agree that it would look better with narrow pants.
I like it. I don’t think the jacket is too long – and it has a narrow silhouette (no big shoulders) which avoids the too-80s look. I might wear it over a sweater dress.
With the super long hair, long top and what appear to be leggings, this model is giving me a bit of a Lindsay Lohan vibe. Overall, though, I like the jacket. Agree the pants would be hard to get right–if you wore black pants that were even a bit baggier than the stretch pants in this picture, I think it might look like you were wearing a tux!
Ick, don’t like this one at all. Then again, at 48, I’ve been to the 80’s as an adult, and don’t care to revisit them. Even if I did, this look is too young for me.
I bought a suit (separates) recently at Lord and Taylor, with cigarette pants and a boyfriend jacket. I felt very eighties but not inappropriate in the office. It was either Kenneth Cole or DKNY, can’t recall right now and it is at the dry cleaners.
Off topic, re Cole Haan shoes. If they don’t have “Air” in the name, like all the ones I’ve ever bought do, are they comfortable? I’m looking at a pair from the “collection” on massive sale at the web site.
they aren’t quite as cushy, but if the general shape of CH suits your foot, they are still fairly good as far as heels go. I remember walking a mile to class on concrete in a mid-height pair during college (was going somewhere else straight from class) and feeling no pain.
I agree, I have both air and non-air, and they are both comfortable. The non-air still hug my foot just right and I don’t have a problem wearing them for long periods of time.
i agree with the other comments – the non-“air” shoes are comfortable.
Looks like something out of a thrift shop.
I like this one. Not something I would normally wear, but I need to be a little less stodgy in my wardrobe. It’s different without being out there.
love it!
and i recently saw a partner wearing cigarette pants as part of a suit and she looked fabulous.
a partner at my office wears cigarette pants a lot and always looks great. maybe you could do an entry on places to get good, office appropriate cigarette pants.
I think this is a great take on the classic blazer with cord piping. The V look picks up on the latest stuff being shown in Paris. It is crisp and slimming. I do not see “80’s” in this jacket at all. It looks like right now. Couldn’t it be worn with a balck and white plaid or tweedy silk skirt? I saw a sensational look on the street in front of MOMA in San Francisco on Friday – the top was solid black, and the skirt was a knife-pleated glen plaid in a gauzy silk.
This jacket reminds me of something from the fashion show in Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead (in a good way). I’m not sure I’d wear it, but I like it.
Throw in a clipboard and it’s Julie, your cruise director, with your agenda for the day.
I’m sorry, Corporette, I appreciate the effort, but I think this is a downscale, cheap look. Fun for the weekends but not elegant or professional.
I love the cut of this jacket—-I am glad longer blazers are coming back; they are so much more flattering than ones that hit above the hip. Great find, C!
I like it, not sure I would pull it off, but I’m glad to see this $350 item as a splurge item- that’s what I consider a splurge rather than a $1500 purse…
