  1. I am really dissatisfied with the plethora of polyester clothing in stores. They seem to be everywhere. Other than Pure Collection & the Peruvian Collection, where can I look for clothing made of natural materials?

    1. What are you looking for?
I like Pendleton, Ibex & Smartwool to name a few.
It really depends on your tastes.

      1. Thank you for the Pendleton recommendation. I love those Hollywood pants. I am looking for workwear.

        1. Brooks Brothers seems to be the most obvious choice for workwear. They have a good selection of wool and cotton. I’m too hard on clothes to entertain the idea of silk, so I’m not sure where you’d go for that. Talbots still has some natural fiber, but not nearly as much as they used to.
I do wish websites allowed filtering by fiber type.

    2. I just went to the Nordstrom site, pulled up “pants,” and filtered by material. You can choose to filter for 100% cotton, linen, silk, cashmere, wool, or for leather.

      281 items.

Presumably, you can filter tops, sweaters, coats, jackets, and dresses the same way.

      1. I should have clarified–I am looking for business casual workwear. If I pull up pants and refine by size & full length inseam, and material is cotton, cotton blend, wool, or wool blend, I am down to 66 items. If I further refine by “work” to take out the jeans and track suits, I am down to 14 items. If I keep it to under $300, I am down to…3 items. If I raise it to $500, I have a choice of 8.

    3. Antonio Melani at Dillard’s has some cotton, linen and silk pieces each year at reasonable prices.

    4. Boden has really lovely all-silk blouses. JCrew does too.

You might also want to check Pure Collection and Poetry catalog as well as Garnet Hill.

I also abhor all of the polyester blouses right now–everything looks like it comes from Old Navy, unless it has a lot of tailoring, in which case, it’s quite expensive polyester. (I like Old Navy, I shop there all the time, but I don’t want people to think it’s my workwear go-to–I buy mostly pjs and jeans and tees and workoutwear there!)

    5. I agree with the OP! I do ALL my shopping on Poshmark now because it’s easier to find vintage and high-end items (even NWT) with quality construction and materials in the resale market!
