Mother's Day is May 12 — what are you getting your mom? What have you gotten her in previous years that has been a hit? (Alternately: have you read any amazing book, consumed any amazing foodstuff, or have any other great gift ideas that you'd love to recommend to others?)

  1. My mom has everything she could need and buys things for herself as she likes them. She also outearns me by almost triple so I feel silly buying her things. I usually prepare some activity for us to do together as a family and split the cost with my sister. This year, we’re taking a chocolate making class all together. I’ve also had fun results with ceramics class, cooking class, etc. Future plans for the years ahead include a winery tour, a spa day, and so on. Once I save up for it, I plan for one year to have us sit for a proper oil painted portrait.

I think the best gift that moms want the most is to spend time together and creating fun family memories. At least the moms that I know.
