Mother's Day is May 12 — what are you getting your mom? What have you gotten her in previous years that has been a hit? (Alternately: have you read any amazing book, consumed any amazing foodstuff, or have any other great gift ideas that you'd love to recommend to others?)
Some of Our Reviews on Classic Gift Ideas:
- Here's Kat's Nixplay review (WiFi photo frames; great gifts for grandparents) — she still loves them!
- YES to everything from Barefoot Dreams. (Here's my review of the circle cardigan.)
- Still love my Bowflex adjustable dumbells.
- The Revlon One-Step Styler really is all it's cracked up to be.
- Favorite Gift of the Month Clubs: Universal Yums (international snacks), Craft Coffee, Great Clubs (beer, salsa, wine, chocolate, and more)
- We're still fans of these old-timey cocktail glasses.
- I think Society6 is a great spot for a ton of gift ideas, including beautiful trays, rugs, and more — I personally have an acrylic tray, two different bath rugs, a shower curtain, and several pillow covers.
- We rounded up the best pajamas for gifts — readers lately have been loving PrintFresh, Lake Pajamas, Lunya, Soma, and the Moonlight line at Nordstrom
- I always love to splurge on quality sheets for holidays — my favorites for summer include linen sheets from Lands' End and Brooklinen, and LL Bean's percale sheets.
- We've rounded up all of our favorite “little things,” i.e. smaller purchases — you can also check out more gift ideas here!
My mom has everything she could need and buys things for herself as she likes them. She also outearns me by almost triple so I feel silly buying her things. I usually prepare some activity for us to do together as a family and split the cost with my sister. This year, we’re taking a chocolate making class all together. I’ve also had fun results with ceramics class, cooking class, etc. Future plans for the years ahead include a winery tour, a spa day, and so on. Once I save up for it, I plan for one year to have us sit for a proper oil painted portrait.
I think the best gift that moms want the most is to spend time together and creating fun family memories. At least the moms that I know.
