twist ringWe like this simple twist ring from Nervous System. We like that it's flexible (not prohibitive to typing), and, honestly, that it's kind of weird — inexpensive jewelry should always be something a little off the beaten track. We like that it's almost a cocktail ring in size, but without the distracting bling. It's available at Supermarket for $15. 1-layer twist ring

  1. this is the sort of thing that if you saw an otherwise extremely fashionable person (like we must assume C is) wearing it you’d think “probably i just don’t understand this because my fashion sense is not sophisticated enough.” but if you saw me wear it, you’d think “why is that decently-dressed woman wearing a cheap plastic ring?”

    1. ROFLMAO!! I felt the same way when those lovely glass rings (as in the entire ring is made of glass) were popular a few (or more) years ago.

    1. That’s kind of the point. Their blog explains their processes and inspirations, and more of their products are available at their Etsy shop.

I am not shilling for nervoussystem; just a fan.

  2. Anyone else think that nylon plastic rings are for fake barbie/princess jewelry sets you get when you’re 5, not for work?

    1. Yes. Not a fan of plastic jewelry on grownups. I’ve rarely seen any where the design was so good I didn’t think “wow, plastic” and unfortunately this is not an exception. I do like it in silver, though.

      1. I like it a lot in silver! I really liked a number of their other pieces, too. Definitely will keep them in mind for future jewelry purchases.

    1. I really love that (but I love all the Frank Gehry for Tiffany jewelry). Is it comfortable to wear?

      1. Yes, absolutely. You just have to get it on the right finger (i wear it on my middle finger of my non-dominant hand) and position it so the pointy parts are lined up so that they don’t point directly at my ring or index fingers. I don’t even notice I have it on most of the time.

  3. I LOVE THIS (even though it does look like tripe, but made me think of bone marrow first). Keep being fashionable, C.

  4. Saw these at a local craft fair — lovely, delicate and unexpected in person. Though yes, reminiscent of bone in the white.

  5. This just looks cheap and nasty I’m afraid. Not a nice look for work or home.

    1. I have this ring on right now! It is very comfortable. I have it sized for right hand ring finger, but I think it would be very nice for right middle too.

  6. It’s obviously not for everyone. But, then, only the most boring basic things are . . .

  7. I’m down with inexpensive jewelry being off the beaten track, but honestly, it looks like a cheap piece of plastic that a little girl might wear during dress up. Not a fan.

  8. In some of these photos it looks like the ring (with a slanted design) is trying to slither off the finger. Just an observation.
