  1. So I haven’t done a “Tales from the Wallet” yet this month, so it should be on deck for next Wednesday. What do you guys want to talk about?

    1. Tips & tricks for sticking to a budget. It’s one thing to create one, another thing to actually follow it!

    2. Going out/eating out on a budget, when your friends always want to go to bars and restaurants that you can’t afford?

    3. How about shopping consignment/vintage/used clothing? I love so many of the designer pieces on here, but I can’t bring myself to spend the money to buy them new. Are there websites, consignment stores with good reputations, or other good ways to buy gently used designer stuff?

    4. How about- what is it really worth splurging on? When is a brand name really worth it?

I’m starting to ask myself this quite a bit now that I’ve signed on to the couponing craze and started buying and using drug store makeup for the first time in years. I find that I can get items like bronzer and mascara for $5-10 that work and look as nice as department store brands.

  2. Buying your first home/apartment? What you need to know about mortgages, closing costs, etc.

    1. This is a good one. I keep hearing people say you are throwing money away by renting, but there are a lot of other expenses people forget about- HOA fees, unexpected repairs, pest control, etc.

      1. Nooooo you’re not throwing away money! In most cases, renting is the WAY smarter thing to do.

    2. Yes please. Buying seems impossible in my area, but am I really “throwing money away” by renting??

A guest post by a finance expert may be helpful??

  3. Tips for staying fashionable and professional on a budget. This would go beyond your bargain Friday posts. Many ppl have slashed their clothing budgets and are forced to resort to what’s in their closet with just a few additions here and there. What items should the precious pennies be spent on? What “out of date” styles can be updated to work for now? What items can be used to layer during the week and used for weekend wear during the weekend?

  4. What about leasing a car vs buying one? Sometimes the car you drive can be an important accessory to clients, whomever, and selecting the right one for your budget and how you pay for it is important.

  5. Maybe a poll on what our daily weaknesses are? Is it clothes? Makeup? Coffee? In reviewing my credit card statement, I think I may have a problem called frozen yogurt :)
