I bought a very similar version of this shirt (in a voile cotton) last year, and it turned into one of my favorite blouses. Perfect for wearing under a blazer (the collar peeks up just so) and perfect for showcasing a necklace. I also like the fact that it can be worn out, belted by itself, layered beneath a tighter sweater, or even tucked. This year they have it in a silk dupioni in regular, petites, plus sizes, and plus size petites in 5 colors: “red desert” (pictured), a light pink, a cream, a black, and a moss green. It’s $79.50 at Talbots. Doupioni ruffle-V top

I’m liking this simple ruffled blouse from New York & Company. I like that the ruffle goes all the way down the front. Unless I’m mistaken, this is a pull-over blouse, note a button-front (at least, I can’t see any buttons on the placket) — but that’s actually a plus because it means gaping isn’t a worry. It’s available in brown, purple, yellow, white, and black (sizes XS-XL), for $29.95 — buy one get one for 50% off. The Madison Short Sleeve Shirt – Twist-Front

ShopBop has a ton of great sales going on, including this silk ruffled blouse. This strikes me as a classic — yes it’ll be in sometimes (like right now with ruffles) and out sometimes (I’m sure at least one commenter will call out “pirate!”), but ultimately this is a look that will swing back around every few years, so it’ a good investment. I’d wear it with a gray pencil skirt and, perhaps, a textured, colorful blazer — purple velvet, perhaps. Was $187, now $93.50 at ShopBop. Parker Long Sleeve Ruffle Blouse

This is a great basic for in-between weather because you can layer it with a cardigan or jacket, but you don’t look like you forgot your outfit if you get hot and take it off. We like the variety of colors (the pink, the baby blue, but also a dark navy and a white), as well as the sizes (XXS through XXL are still left in most colors) — and then comes the price: was $29, now $19.99, take an additional 40% off at checkout with code SAVE40. NICE. Exclusively online at Ann Taylor Loft. Ruffled Trim Tee

For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional.
Love the look of this Classiques Entier suit — and particularly the fact that the sheer chiffon ruffle is detachable. We like the way it’s so different from anything else we’ve seen, and we like that it’s feminine but not in a hit-you-over-the-head way. For day, we’d either wear the pieces without the ruffle, though — or wear them as separates. However, this suit strikes us as a fabulous answer for those times when you have an evening event for work (a charity event, a cocktail party, a gala of some sort) and want to look festive but professional — because if every other woman is there in a suit, you can just detach the ruffle. The jacket (Classiques Entier ‘Diffused Melange’ Jacket
) is $268, and the skirt (Classiques Entier ‘Diffused Melange’ Skirt
) is $148, both available at Nordstrom.

Happy Monday! Today we’re loving this gorgeous asymmetrical knit jacket from Armani Collezioni. Love the ruffle, love the rosette, and love the dots. The short, fitted look can be a challenge — we’d wear it with wide trousers (as styled here) or perhaps with an A-line or tullip skirt. Fabulous. It’s $1,340 at Saks. Pleat-Trim Knit Jacket
