A few months ago, I attended a press event for Kenneth Cole (actually a really lovely dinner hosted by KC himself) and all of the bloggers got to choose one piece to take home with them. I got this suede bag in a purpley pink and I have to say it’s really lovely. The suede is so much more interesting than I was expecting for the price point — it’s textured and soft and oh-so-touchable, and the studs on the top handle make it easy to carry and grab. The bag itself is nice and roomy, but slouchy enough that it doesn’t seem huge if it’s only half-full. Loving this gorgeous Smythe blazer, in part because it combines two things I don’t normally think of as going together: linen and leather elbow patches. Love the sharp shoulders with a bit of pouf, the curved hem with European vents in the back, and the very cool perforated leather elbow pockets. I think the brown would be most wearable for the office, paired with other browns (obviously), but also perhaps with light blue pants or even black trousers with a white blouse. It’s available at Bloomingdale’s in light brown, but do note that Nordstrom has it in pink, and online boutique SHE has it in yellow. It’s $650 in all colors. This dress strikes me as a fun, trendy take on the shift dress. Love the boat neckline, the pleat details on the collar, and the abstract print. I’d wear it with a white cardigan or blazer in the summer and spring, and a black one in the other seasons. The print is pretty busy so I’d keep the accessories simple: pearls or a simple gold chain. I’m liking this simple ruffled blouse from New York & Company. I like that the ruffle goes all the way down the front. Unless I’m mistaken, this is a pull-over blouse, note a button-front (at least, I can’t see any buttons on the placket) — but that’s actually a plus because it means gaping isn’t a worry. I am loving this simple dress from DKNY today — nice high neckline, ladylike length, made from natural fibers (wool) — it’s just kind of perfect.
