Does anyone have any advise for dealing with Generalized Anxiety Disorder? I was recently diagnosed with GAD and was started on meds and therapy. Seems like it’s affecting work more and I’m just having a rough time.
I don’t have any specific advice except just hang in there and do the best you can. I went through that during my last semester of grad school (complete with full-blown panic attacks, insomia, etc.). I will say that most of the people I told didn’t realize I was struggling with something — while I thought I was being SO obviously bad at my day-to-day life. I’m much better now, but it took a lot of taking things easy, being consistent with my meds and therapist, and giving myself a chance to get better before things got better.
Also, remember to give yourself a break. And a hug.
I understand that medication is something that helps a lot of people, and I am stating *my personal experience* (albeit long and annoying one) here:
I really think the only way to truly deal with generalized anxiety is to both figure out why you are having it (something triggers the natural predisposition toward it, anyway) and learn to accept it and not give it any more thought than necessary. Below:

Good luck!
