Re-posting from a few days ago: I am starting a new job in two weeks, and am brainstorming things to do in advance to get ready. I scheduled a hair cut, am meeting with a Nordstrom personal shopper, and planning to read Nice Girls Don’t Get the Corner Office. Any other ideas from the hive?

If you tend to make your own meals, plan to grocery shop ahead of time and prepare lunches for later on in your first week / dinners to freeze.
Finish up any projects you’ve been meaning to get to–organize your closet, deep clean, make a photo album.
Read a novel, and do fun things that are less crowded on weekdays (e.g., museums). Maybe take a mini-trip somewhere?
Make dates to meet up with friends for coffees/lunch/happy hour–you may be too busy or tired your first weeks in your new job.
Enjoy!

What color/style of shoes would you wear with this dress?
It’s for an outdoor/daytime wedding, and I’m limited to flat shoes.

I think that would look adorable with those crochet flats I’ve been seeing around this season.

I think the crochet flats are too casual for a wedding. I’d wear a pair of jeweled strappy sandals, flat if you need to. Either in a nude for you color or silver. Something like this, though there are gazillions of sandals out there that would fit the bill.
