ISO True Knee Length Pencil Skirt
I’m eyeing the J Crew Telegraph skirt because I love the longer length, but am unsure of the fit. I’m 5’6″, 175 lbs, curvy hourglass w/ a small waist. Guessing I would need a 14, and nip the waist in a bit. Any thought?

I can’t help with sizing, but i like the No 2 pencil skirt (wool – not cotton) in the tall sizes. I’m 5-8, wear a 6T and it hits me just at the end of my kneecap.

I find J Crew skirts rather unforgiving to curves/hips – definitely try it on first. A larger size than your normal plus tailoring the waist might work.

FYI this skirt is really long. I’m 5’9″ and it hits about two inches below my knee. I think it looks frumpy with flats but still like it well enough with heels. If you’re 5’6″ I would try tall sizes first. Just a thought!
ISO True Knee Length Pencil Skirt
Thanks for the tips! I love pencil skirts, and have some that fit perfectly up top, but are just sadly lacking in the length department…might need to check my local J Crew store and see if they have any talls in stock to try on (they don’t often stock the larger sizes, unfortunately).

They never stock talls – online only.
ISO True Knee Length Pencil Skirt
Ah, that explains it. I thought they just sold out really quickly at my local store.

Love the “ISO” part of your name :)
I’m 5’10 and the Telegraph hits at my knee for reference. I think the sizing is similar to the wool No.2 pencils, just longer. I’d suggest ordering your normal JCrew size and one size up of both the Telegraph and the tall No.2 (since the tall sizes aren’t usually in store). Then you can figure out if it can be tailored and return what doesn’t fit.
